We are very excited about our upcoming New Year’s Party in Dubai. We can’t wait to perform at the wonderful Sofitel Hotel who have invited Hula Groove to perform on New Year’s Eve. We just hope there’s no mad rush to Heathrow airport as there was for our last trip to Spain! If so, we’ll have to use Asya and Marie’s skills of persuasion to get us on the plane again!
We love supporting small charities such as Map Squad. For the second time, Hula Groove will perform at their Christmas party in December in support of people with learning difficulties. We always have a fantastic time playing at the Bubble Club and are delighted to be asked back.
We were honoured to have been asked to perform at the “Boogie for your Bones” charity event hosted by 'Strictly Come Dancing' star Craig Revel Horwood. The filmed event on the 20th of October was in aid of the National Osteoporosis Society. Hula Groove created a recorded jingle which the charity sent to Britain’s top dance schools for a choreographed routine. The theme promoted the idea of dance being an excellent way of strengthening your bones. We performed an energetic live version of the Boogie for your Bones jingle while the talented dancers performed their routines.
Hula groove are extremely excited to be rehearsing again. Especially as the emphasis will be on dance routines to be unveiled at their showcase in the Kings Head on January the 23rd 2009. The girls in the band will be introducing the tunes of Destiny’s Child, The Pussy Cat Dolls and The Supremes. These songs will be added to our ever-growing repertoire. We will be bringing in an expert choreographer, who together with our manager Danny will be kicking the girls into shape. There will be no room for mistakes!!
Speaking of mistakes, Hula Groove had a beautiful group bonding session over Karaoke in Soho last week. By mistake we mean it was a mistake for the musicians (with the exception of Tim the guitarist) to sing. Let’s leave it to the girls, ok guys?!
